Solvents turn paint solids into a paintable paste. They dissolve resins, oils, waxes and fats. But they are also capable to harm vital fat tissue in the human body, i.e. by definition, a solvent can not be totally harmless. However, not always the most aggressive solvent available is required to do the job. Therefore ECO-HOUSE created a 3-part solvent system consisting of solvents & thinners of gradual strength. They allow the painter to make a well-targeted choice regarding the solvent potency and the associated health risks. All Eco-House solvents are free of aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Added in tiny quantities it helps linseed oil and standoil coats to dry through and to shorten dry times.INGREDIENTS: Cobalt octoate, zirconium octoate, calcium octoate, # 115 Citrus Thinner COLOURS: purple blue CAUTION: Although this product is less toxic than other drier blends, it belongs only into the hands of mature artists. 	# 955 Damar Painting Medium - Heavy This ( almost ) traditional resin-oil painting medium contains damar resin and linseed standoil as binders. The main difference from the traditional 1:1:1 formula is the use of the mild Eco-House solvent system instead of turpentine and the addition of lead-free driers (cobalt-zirconium-calcium octoates), which reduce the drying time substantially. This medium has a rather heavy consistency resulting in a rich glaze finish, if used undiluted. To obtain a " leaner " medium and a lower viscosity add Eco-House # 915 Natural Orange Terpene Solvent in any quantity as needed. Damar resin adds brilliance and luminosity to colours and mechanical hardness to the paint coat. Linseed standoil adds elasticity and moisture resistance to the paint coat. It improves flow and leveling of paints. It has less tendency to yellow than plain linseed oil.

	# 952 Damar Picture Varnish Eco-House Damar Varnish is made of high-quality damar resin from Indonesia and #115 Extra Mild Citrus Thinner in an approx. ratio of 1 : 1 with a small amount of linseed standoil for added elasticity of the varnish coat. Dry to touch within 12 - 24 hrs. Damar Varnish can be used as a final picture varnish over well-dried oil paintings (after 6-12 months) or as an ingredient to your own medium formula. Damar Varnish provides a semi-gloss protective finish coat. For reduced coat thickness add Eco-House # 915 Natural Orange Terpene Solvent or in small quantity # 115 Extra Mild Citrus Thinner. 	# 950 Damar Resin Crystals ( graded ) Damar Resin is a natural tree resin derived from the viscous sap of the Southeast Asian damar pine. The tree sap is collected and by air drying separated into the volatile turpentine and the solid damar resin. It is used to make various traditional painting preparations, such as varnish and medium. ECO-HOUSE offers this fine raw material imported from Indonesia for artists who want to prepare their own formula. Since damar is a natural raw material, it contains some impurities, which have to be strained out after the resin has been dissolved. 	# 115 Xtra Mild Citrus Thinner A Solvent must be capable of dissolving resins, oils, waxes and fats. This means that vital human organs are at risk when volatile solvents enter the body by inhalation. The most toxic compounds in low-grade petroleum solvents are aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, which also cause their obnoxious smell. Because Eco-House wants the consumer to be able to make an "educated choice" regarding potential health risks, we list all ingredients on product labels. Our gradual-strength solvent system allows to minimize exposure to harsh solvents. There is no technical "one-fits-all" solvent without avoidable health risks. Eco-House Extra Mild Citrus Thinner combines the solving action of natural orange peel oil in food quality with highly purified mineral oils, which are 100% volatile and free of aggressive aromatics. Isoparaffinic mineral oils are commonly used in pharmaceuticals, baby oils, sun tan lotions, hairsprays and in animal feed. According to a study conducted by the American National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association, they are by far less involved in the formation of smog than any other solvent due to their chemical inertness. Natural orange peel oil in food quality is the actual solvent component. It is used in small amounts in order to reduce the risk of a sensitizing effect.

	# 910 Light Refined Linseed Oil This very light linseed oil is mostly used as a fine oil painting medium or as a raw material ingredient in painting mediums. # 910 Light Refined Linseed Oil is also suitable for maintenance of food-safe wood items such as cutting boards and salad bowls. In order to dry it requires air contact, i.e. the thicker a coat is applied the slower it dries. Since this product does not contain any driers or other additives, we recommend to only wipe it on as a food-safe wood finish. Can be thinned with # 115 Xtra Mild Citrus Thinner up to 200%.

	# 915 Natural Orange Terpene Solvent The most potent solvent in the Eco-House solvent system. Technically, this product can be a full - fledged substitute for turpentine, since it dissolves damar resin solids, hardened paint etc. However, like many natural essential oils it can have a sensitizing effect on sensitive persons if it is used too liberally. Therefore it should be used only in well-vented areas for those tasks where it's use is unavoidable.
