Strathmore 400 Series Mixed Media Paper—a versatile surface for professional artists, ready to handle whatever your creativity throws at it. By combining the characteristics of watercolor paper with the finish of a drawing sheet, we've created the ultimate paper for artists to confidently explore watercolor washes, ink lines, & layers of pastel or colored pencil without fear of warping or tearing. Freely create richly dynamic pieces that truly stand out. Toned paper gives your artwork instant depth by providing a natural mid-tone background, making highlights and shadows pop for striking, realistic results. Effortlessly add dimension and contrast to bringing your illustrations to life with a bold, dynamic look. Toned paper is especially popular for figure drawing, portrait work, and expressive sketches. Our 400 Series is often easily recognized thanks to the iconic brown cover used across our fine art pads. Known for its dependable quality & time-tested durability, this series is a staple in the hands of art students & professional artists, from their first art class in middle school, through to high school competitions, collegiate course work & on to a career as a professional artist, fashion designer, architect, illustrator, animator or engineer.
